Every one of us should take care of our skin. It is our first defense against infections, diseases and the like. Last minute skin care should be part of our daily routine; it should never be a chore. We should develop a habit of having a good skin care regimen. Having a healthy skin makes you feel and look good. A healthy skin keeps us away from getting skin diseases, early skin aging and even cancer. Regular visits to a dermatologist must also be made to ensure that we are doing the right thing with regards to skin care. In line with that, the best skin care products should be at hand. Whether we are just at home, at the office, on a travel or just anywhere, we should always be armed of skin care products because we would never know what’s in store for us. Here are some tips to what we should carry around in our purses so that we are never caught unaware.

The first step in skin care is cleansing. A good cleanser for the face is one that is mild, Aveeno, Olay, and Biore to name a few. These cleansers are ideal for all types of skin and are said to be gentle. We should clean our face at least twice a day. For our hands, we could have some hand sanitizer because water is not available at all times. Always keep your hands clean to prevent spreading of germs and viruses. Mild soaps may be used for the hands as this would not dry out our skin. For the rest of our body, use soap or a bath gel that is both gentle and hypoallergenic. We should exfoliate at least once a week to remove all the dead skin cells; a loofa would do the job. Be very sure though that you are not too rough on your skin as it may cause you scratches. Be very gentle and make sure that only the dead skin cells are removed.

Next is moisturizing. Remember to always moisturize your face day and night. For daytime, it is best to use a facial moisturizer that is oil-free and has UV protection and at night time, one that is penetrating would be best. Don’t forget to moisturize your hands as well. Always keep a small hand cream dispenser in your purse. For the rest of your body, a good lotion would be best. Choose a lotion that has a scent that you love. Apply lotion after a shower in the morning and at night before going to bed. Also, have a small lotion in your purse and make it a habit to apply lotion several times a day. Always bear in mind that our skin needs to be always hydrated to make it healthy, smooth and supple.

To complete your skin care regimen, don’t forget to get rid of unwanted hair. Unwanted hairs are very unsightly. Getting rid of unwanted hair may be done in different ways: shaving, plucking, waxing, use of hair removal creams and laser hair removal. If you do shaving, you will notice that your skin becomes itchy and feels dry. Rub an ample amount of a good moisturizer to hydrate the skin or use Vitamin E cream or anything that has Aloe Vera for additional moisture.

Taking care of the skin can sometimes be complicated, regarding all those information from the internet, television and magazines about the right way to preserving our skin. Taking care of the skin does not stop with the simple cleansing, moisturizing or exfoliating, especially when you suddenly suffer from skin problems.

If you are having skin care problems, here are some skin care tips to help you preserve your skin and make it younger looking.

When the skin pores become clogged, pimple starts. During puberty stage, pimple is very common because of sebum overproduction. Areas in the chin, forehead and nose, also known as the T-zone has many glands that produce too much oil so these areas are the most susceptible to pimples.

For the prevention of skin breakouts, here are some skin care tips for you:

Use warm water together with mild soap when cleansing your face. It is best to cleanse the face two times a day. Use gentle soap that is specifically for acne. Massage gently in a circular motion and remember not to scrub. Avoid scrubbing and washing too much for it may damage and irritate your skin. It is recommended to use a lotion that has benzoyl peroxide after cleansing to lessen bacteria and oil.

Never pop pimples. It may cause further infection in the skin, which may lead to redness, swelling and worse, scarring. Touching your face with fingers may cause your skin to gather sebum and increase bacteria so avoid it. Wash your hands first before putting makeup or treatment creams in your face to prevent the pores from inflammation and irritation.

Another skin care tip is to get rid of your makeup before going to bed. Also, avoid using old makeup that may cause irritation. Always remember to apply sun protection. Sun damage not only causes wrinkles but may also worsen acne problems.

Speaking of the sun, your skin is prone to sun damage and if you are the type of person who loves the outdoors, you must know these skin care tips for you:

Though the sun is a great source of vitamin D, too much sun exposure may cause skin troubles and even skin cancer. It is important to put sunscreen that has sun protection factor or SPF. If possible, avoid sun exposure between ten in the morning and four in the afternoon. But if you really need to go out, be sure that you apply sunscreen more frequently.

Cold sores are also one of the concerns of many people. These appear like small pimples near the lip area. Here are some proper skin care tips to avoid the appearance of cold sores:

Personal hygiene is the most important skin care tip. Do not share personal things such as toothbrush, lip balm, or even drinks. Cold sores happen because of a certain virus that is passed on through the mouth and the nose. Always remember to have a healthy lifestyle, exercise, eat well, and have enough rest. If you are suffering from painful cold sores, ibufrofen or acetaminophen can help. Avoid eating acidic foods such as tomatoes, oranges and lemonades, as well as spicy and salty food that may cause irritation.

Experts used to think that growing wrinkles is a normal occurrence that comes with age. Although it is true, there are components that hasten the deterioration of your skin as well as those that slow it down. Anti aging skin care is as simple as being well-informed about the things that lead to skin damage.

Firstly, before expounding on antioxidants, you should have a basic understanding of what free radicals are. They destroy healthy cells in your body by tearing through the cell membrane and damaging its structure and function. This can also lead to a process called oxidation. For anti aging skin care matters, oxidation is considered to be one of the main culprits. Although there are internal triggers that cause free radicals, there are also external triggers that are easier to deal with. Smoking, pollution, UV exposure, toxic chemicals and fatigue are examples of those external triggers. It is inevitable to be exposed to these triggers but knowing about them can help you avoid them and take apt precautionary measures for maximum anti aging skin care.

Moving on, antioxidants fight against free radicals. There are antioxidants that are naturally-produced by our bodies but as we are exposed to those that trigger free radicals, we already need supplementation. Antioxidant levels also diminish as we age that we need more supplements as we get older. External antioxidants include vitamin A, C and E, minerals such as selenium and zinc, green tea and of course fruits and vegetables.

Having a healthy diet, with lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, is one of the ways to fight free radicals. There are also antioxidant dietary supplements that you can ask your doctor about. And lastly, there are skin care products which contain ingredients with antioxidant properties which is best for anti aging skin care.

Even though a lot of people know about the skin damage the sun can bring, there are still those that take it lightly. People should avoid being exposed to the sun, especially between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., because these are the high intensity hours. As it is inevitable to be exposed to the sun even when you are indoors, it is best to cover up with protective clothing. Wearing long sleeves, hats, sunglasses and etc can be beneficial. On top of all those, you should use sunscreen. Apply sunscreen to the select areas of your skin that are likely more exposed to the sun such as the face, arms, shoulders and upper chest. Ideally, you’ll have to use one-fourth of a 4-ounce bottle in one application.

Another main consideration when it comes to anti aging skin care tips is using moisturizers. They prevent and treat dry skin that leads to wrinkling. On top of those, moisturizers can also protect sensitive skin, improve your skin tone and improve your its texture. Choosing a good moisturizer entails knowing your skin type. There may be a need to try several brands before you can find the best one for you. Application of moisturizers should be done immediately after bathing. Putting on moisturizers after lightly patting your skin would make sure that you trap some water in the surface of your cells. There may be a need to put on moisturizers for several occasions, particularly every after cleansing time or if the weather is too cold.

There are a lot of rewards for losing weight – that is, if you are not anorexic or bulimic or suffering from any disease or disorder. Provided that you are losing weight healthily, you are probably enjoying and celebrating by buying new clothes and flaunting your new figure. You are probably feeling better than ever with a healthier heart and a reinforced self-esteem. But let me burst your bubble for a minute. Have you observed how the skin on your arms jiggles when you wave? Haven’t you notice the folds of skin that seems to pop out of your tummy when you sit? If there is one problem plaguing many people who lose weight, it’s probably the loosening and sagging skin that comes after weight loss.

To help you enjoy and celebrate your achievement in weight loss, here are some top skin care tips you shouldn’t miss to banish loose and saggy skin:

Massage face regularly.

Loose skin is not exclusive on your arms, butt, legs, and stomach. Even the skin on your face can sag when you lose facial fat. The skin around your eyes, over your cheeks, and on your chin can develop into tiny wrinkles, jowls, and pouches which can give you the appearance of a pug. Massaging your face can tone your facial skin and muscles. It can also tighten your facial skin and help it adapt to your new and thinner face shape. So instead of having a droopy face, you can have a well-shaped one that looks healthy and young.

Do toning exercises.

Most weight loss regimens – whether natural or drug-assisted – are focused on eliminating body fat. Since fat is the layer beneath the skin, it is natural for the skin to hang loose if the layer that anchors it to the body is removed. The key here is to anchor the skin to the muscle. This will be possible by doing toning exercise. By developing the muscle, it increases in size that can make up for the lost fat layer. However, since muscle is lean, your body will appear firm and toned instead of soft and fluffy as in the case of fat. As your skin stretches to accommodate the bulk of the developing muscle, you can start flaunting your gently toned arms sans the jiggling skin underneath.

Consider resistance training.

Most people, especially women, are not keen on the idea of doing resistance training because they do not want to look bulky. But resistance training is not about developing bulk; it is about building and making your existing muscles firmer. Flaccid and underdeveloped muscle cannot anchor the skin to the body. They even add to the sagging flab. What you thought was loose skin may just be soft muscles.

Eat lean protein.

Lean protein like skinless chicken breast and trimmed meat can contribute to your muscle mass. By consuming lean protein, you help your body develop muscle while keeping the fat levels down. This way, you get to enjoy your meat, lose any remaining fat, build existing muscles, and banish loose skin at the same time.

While there are medical procedures and creams that can help you solve your problems with loose post-weight loss skin, they are largely inconvenient since you have to have them redone or applied always. To nip the problem of loose skin right in the bud, it is best to opt for a steady weight loss program right from the start. You use weight loss supplements like Xenical to help you lose weight gradually without leaving folds of sagging skin. Since Xenical is a proven weight loss product, you can be sure that it is safe and effective, especially when used with exercise and proper nutrition.

There are many ways to repair skin damage and maintain its youthful appearance. It could be as simple as following basic skin care, avoiding those that lead to skin damage and finding all natural skin care products ideal for your type of skin. The problem, however, is that there are so many different creams and skin care products out there. Skin care tips are sometimes contradictory that the once simple solution to skin damage became more baffling.

There is no best cream for everyone but there is such a thing as healthiest cream for your skin. This is because people’s skin type differs. Some are oilier while some are drier. Some are more tolerant of the sun’s rays while some are more sensitive. A person’s lifestyle should also dictate on which cream to purchase. This is because people can be exposed to different triggers that cause free radicals. This means that all natural skin care products you have to purchase should focus on protection your skin needs the most.

The first thing one has to consider when buying the healthiest cream is its protection against the sun. Long exposure to the sun has been long proven to lead to skin damage that sunscreen is one of the best bets for choosing one. Being exposed to the sun for long hours has many consequences including sun spots, discoloration, dryness and wrinkles.

The condition of the skin will inevitably deteriorate with time but it can be slowed down with apt skin regimen and all natural skin care products. There are a few components that your cream has to have to guarantee that it would help you keep that youthful glow. The first one is antioxidants. Free radicals lead to oxidation which has been considered to be a culprit in the process of skin aging. Antioxidants, such as vitamin A, vitamin C and vitamin E have been known to kill free radicals and keep the cells of the skin healthy. Having these ingredients in your skin care products would definitely prove to be beneficial.

Products with water and oil need preservatives to prevent bacterial growth after they are opened. Most skin care products contain preservatives, such as quaternium-15 and imidazolidynyl urea, that sometimes cause skin irritation. For people who have skin reactions from these preservatives, it is best to resort to all natural skin care products.

Another main consideration is the moisturizing properties of the cream. Moisturizers, in all natural skin care products, can hold water in the outermost layer of skin. Aside from that, they also act as a temporary barrier that allows damaged cells of the skin to be repaired on their own. Again, it all depends on the type of your skin. For normal to oily skin, water-based moisturizers are best to avoid that greasy feeling. On the other hand, those with dry skin and mature skin may need more moisturizing components that it has to be oil-based.

It is not enough to use the cream that suits your skin best. You still have follow a basic skin care regimen and avoid other factors that lead to skin damage. A multi-level strategy might just do wonders for skin repair and its maintenance. Having a well-balanced diet and having a healthy lifestyle can also improve the condition of your skin.

All of us use some types of skin care products. Many of us use color cosmetics. Most of us are not aware that the product we love using so much may be causing dermatitis to us. this dermatitis can be allergic contact dermatitis or irritant contact dermatitis. Anytime you get eczema like patches on your skin, look at your skin care products and cosmetics. Avoid using them for some days and observe the results. A cosmetic or skin care product contains many ingredients. The main ingredient is the vehicle that forms the base of the product. Many other chemicals, dyes, fragrances, natural products are added to make a color cosmetic or a skin care product. Some of these skin care products and cosmetics can cause allergic contact dermatitis or irritant contact dermatitis.

Fragrances and preservatives are the most common dermatitis causing agents. Every individual has his/her tendency to be allergic or get irritant contact dermatitis from a material. The material, which is safe for one, may cause a reaction in others. For good skin care it is important to know about what causes allergy to you.

Though many skin care products are labeled as hypoallergenic, they may cause allergy in some people. Terms such as unscented, fragrance-free etc. that are frequently used to label skin care products may not have much signifivance because some fragrance may have been used to mask bad odor of other ingredients. Many natural products carry their own fragrance. Many lavender preparations may have no fragrance, but lavender itself is a fragrance.

Natural products used for skin care may also cause allergy, so do chemicals. Most of the essential oils of the lime family are phototoxic. If you use them and walk out in the sun, you will get phototoxic reaction on your skin. That is bad for good skin care.

Any time you get a reaction from a skin care product, stop using that. You should use any cosmetic or skin care preparation only after doing a small test on the skin first.

Age doesn’t make you less of a person. It only does if you are not taking care of your well-being and you start to abandon the realms of healthy living. For those people who are becoming stressed out by visible signs of aging, it’s never too late to start regaining that youthful look and glow.

Two of the most common complaints of people when it comes to skin is having different kinds skin disorders or having visible signs of premature aging. These are what different beauty products are for-to provide solution to people’s common skin problems.

A different kind of cream

It is only natural for people to find ways to maintain and protect their physical beauty. Since not everyone can stay as flawless as babies due to several external factors, more and more products are being uniquely developed depending on the person’s skin type and needs.

One of the most popular skin care products available in the market today is the skin care cream. Since creams are known for being easily absorbed by the skin, countless of skin care creams-mostly anti-aging-are being sold.

According to dermatologists, there are actually over 300 skin care creams and products created to solve different skin problems. Based on long-term reduction of wrinkles, instant reducing of fine lines, antioxidant protective properties that delay skin cell aging, collagen and skin renewal properties and skin smoothing properties, the most common skin care creams include Rejuvinol, Alpha Derma, Idebenol, Strixderm, Avotone, Strivectin-SD, Rejuvenex, and Hydroderm.

Although these skin care creams are known to contain high-grade chemicals and ingredients, which are uniquely formulated to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, most dermatologists still agree that proper skin care can help people maintain younger looking skin.

Here are some helpful tips in achieving that healthy skin:

1. The most basic thing you should learn in caring for your skin is to develop a good skin care regimen. Make sure that you clean your skin every day by deep cleansing it using safe cleansing products.

2. If you are using beauty products such as skin care creams, make sure that you are consistent in using or applying the product/s properly by following the instructions included.

3. Always keep your skin well hydrated by having enough liquid supply in your body by drinking lots of water or juices. Water or liquid intake should be 8 glasses or more daily.

4. If you’re a woman, make facial skin care as your top priority by removing your make-up before sleeping. This would prevent skin pore clogging and congestion. Also, keep your makeup clean by replacing sponges and brushes regularly.

5. Always keep your skin moisturized day and night to keep it from harmful elements, which damage it. Use skin care products that have high vitamin E, shea butter, squalene, and aloe vera contents.

6. Protect your skin everyday by always using sunscreen with a SPF of at least 15. This can prevent premature skin aging, wrinkles, and fine lines. Along with sunscreen, protect your skin by using sunglasses, full-brimmed hats, long sleeved blouses, and slacks.

7. If you’re smoking, quit. Giving up nicotine intake can help your skin regain its lost nutrients.

8. Reduce excessive intake of caffeinated and alcoholic drinks because they only causes dehydration which only lead to cell death.

People spend hundreds of dollars on skin care products to find the best solution to damaged skin. In time, both men and women will feel that the condition of their skin is changing. It would be thinner, less elastic, more translucent and dehydrated. Having dry skin leads to developing wrinkles which a lot of people consider unsightly. Before, a lot of experts thought that having wrinkles is inevitable. Although it is true, there are ways that would slow down the process and reduce its visibility. Best of all, slowing down the aging process and repairing the damages need not be expensive as people may have thought. There are all natural home skin care solutions that are affordable yet effective.

The first step to successful natural home skin care is to “know thy skin”. This simply means that you have to know the type of your skin. It is important to know if it is dry, average or oily because skin care for each type varies. It would also be beneficial if you knew ingredients that cause allergic reactions to your skin. From looking at your daily routine, you will be able to point out which aspect in skin protection you need most. For instance, if you go out for lunch and walk under the sun, then you might need to spend more for sun protection. If you are exposed to free radicals, then perhaps you have to focus on antioxidants when it comes to the considerations for products associated with natural home skin care.

Speaking about food, nutrition is another aspect to consider for skin care. Besides knowing which kinds of food make the skin looking young, knowing which causes oily skin and breakouts would also be helpful for natural home skin care. Most fruits are considered favorable for skin, but some are more beneficial than others. Cherries, berries, melons, apples and pears are some examples of “food for the skin”. Green and leafy vegetables, asparagus, eggplant, celery and onions are also rich in antioxidants. On the other hand, a high intake of meat and weirdly enough, full-fat milk increases the possibility of developing wrinkles.

There are still a lot of myths when it comes to proper cleansing. The first myth is that the more you wash, the more your skin would improve. Too much cleansing actually reduces the natural oils from your skin. the same goes for using strong soaps that it is best to resort to using mild soaps with added oils and fats to replace natural oils that is stripped while cleansing. Most people also tend to be swayed by products with dyes and perfumes because they do look inviting. The truth is that some of these additives can trigger irritation and other allergic responses. Primary rule for natural home skin care can be as simple as being gentle to your skin. Using warm water for washing, and patting instead of rubbing with a towel, can already make wonders.

Lastly, make sure you have the most appropriate skin care products. As the sun is considered a main reason for skin damage, sun protection should never be taken lightly. Stay away from direct sunlight in its high intensity hours particularly between 10 in the morning and 4 in the afternoon. For best results, use sunscreen with SPF higher than 15. It is also important that you know how to use sunscreen. For instance, it is best to put some on 20 minutes before going outdoors and as it wears off, you might need to do reapplication as needed.

Men and women nowadays are more knowledgeable and careful in choosing the best skin care products for them. They have been well-informed by the help of media, the television and the internet as well.

We have been very conscious of how we look and how healthy our skin is. Before, only women are considered vain but time made men somewhat conscious of their skin and how they present themselves in front of other people. Men are more fortunate over women in terms of their skin. Men’s skin is at least 20% thicker than that of women’s (technically speaking). They enjoy the benefit of getting fewer wrinkles than women, that’s why men tend to look younger through the years more than women do. Today, there had been more and more skin care products specifically made for men. Some men think that skin care is a girl thing though. On the other hand, men should be equally aware of how their care for their skin as women.

Attention, all men out there or women who cares for their men: here are some must-haves for men for a better and healthier skin:

1. Use Sunscreen. Exposure to the sun certainly is healthy but an overdose of which may cause burns, early aging and even cancer. An ample amount of sunscreen before you go out would do the job.

2. Cleansers. Keeping the skin clean, dead skin-free and free of oil also makes your skin free from acne and irritations. For men with oily and sensitive skin, special cleansers may be needed, although most men opt for the simple soap.

3. Retinoid. Using retinoid helps keep your pores unclogged and it may even help out with skin aged by excessive sun exposure.

4. Use Razors. Razors nowadays have 3 or more blades which when used shave away all the dead skin cells from your face. For some though, these razors may cause ingrown hair which is unsightly on your face. In this case, use of electric shavers may be considered.

5. Aftershave. Use of aftershave is essential to men. The best aftershave is the one that has no alcohol content as it dries off your skin. Choose those with disinfectants and moisturizers to keep skin soft and smooth and prevent you from having blackheads or ingrown hair.

For women, there are a lot of products to choose from, considering everything from price range to the effectiveness of the product. Here are some suggestions which you might want to consider:

Face Cleansers. Cetaphil is one product most dermatologists recommend because it has no harmful chemicals, fragrance that irritates the skin. If you are looking for something with shea butter, try Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser. It leaves your skin clean and moisturized. For oily skin, Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash is for you as this is soap and oil-free. You may also try Clinique Wash-Away Gel Cleanser and Lancôme Clarifiance Oil-Free Gel Cleanser. I you have normal to combination skin; try Dove Essential Nutrients Self-Foaming Cleanser. It combats oil and removes dead skin cells. For aromatherapy lovers; Bloom Facial Cleaners is for you. It has the scent of lavender and grapefruit oils. For sensitive skin; on a tight budget; Avon Clear Skin Foaming Cleanser is best or the Aveda All-Sensitive Cleanser. Blemished skin? Neutrogena Pore-Refining Cleanser is for you, it does not dry your skin. If budget is not a problem, try Murad Acne Kit. It has a cleanser, a pore-cleansing gel, an exfoliating lotion and a spot treatment.

Moisturizers. Moisturizers when applied should feel smooth, smell and feel good. It should not be irritating and you should not feel any burning sensation when applied. If you have dry skin, look for the presence of glycerin, dimethicone and hyaluronic acid in your moisturizer. Dove Sensitive Essential Day Lotion is very light and is free from dyes and fragrances. For those who want natural ingredients, try Lancôme Absolute Night Treatment. It contains sea algae, soy and wild yam extract. Crème de la Mer is the best in this category. If you have oily skin, look for a moisturizer that is oil-free not non-pore clogging. Some products in this category include: Olay Complete All Day Moisture Lotion UV Defense Combination/Oily, Neutrogena Oil-Free Moisturizer SPF 15, and Lorac Oil-Free Moisturizer. For those who have normal/combination skin, a gel type is best like the Aveeno Positively Smooth facial Moisturizer and the Clarins Hydration-Plus Moisture Lotion SPF 15.

So, before buying any kind of beauty product; first, know your skin type then remember all the harmful ingredients you should look out for.
