How do you find the top natural skin care products? You probably need some help. First, you need to know that an organic natural skin care product that is made in the US might contain non-organic ingredients, because the label is not regulated, and those manufactured anywhere in the world could contain unwanted contaminants, because manufactures are not required to test for contaminants.

For example, a consumer advocacy group recently tested a variety of organic natural skin care cleansers. They found that most of them contained Dioxane. Chemically, it is organic, but it certainly is not safe. It is either a possible, probable or known human carcinogen, depending on which list of cancer-causing substances you are looking at.

At one time, applying cancer-causing substances topically was not considered particularly dangerous. It was thought that they did not penetrate the epidermis and could do little or no damage. Now, we know that this is not true. Research has shown that these substances pass through the skin’s layers, enter the tissues, the blood stream and lodge in the organs.

The top natural skin care products, in my book, are ones that do not contain anything that is even suspected of causing cancer or other health problems. I believe in the Ayurvedic approach to skincare, which means that if I would not eat it, I should not apply it to my face or body.

I am sure that anyone who is shopping for an organic natural skin care solution has the same idea. It’s just that the cosmetic industry doesn’t see it that way. They still recommend the use of coal tar for eczema and dandruff. The primary components of most cosmetics are petrochemicals, byproducts created when crude oil is converted to gasoline. Why would you want to put that on your face or body?

The top natural skin care products contain “yummy” ingredients. Passion fruit is one of my favorites.

Like any other organ of the human body, the skin’s layers need nutrients. Vitamin C is a cofactor necessary for creating strong collagen fibers. Vitamin A is needed to maintain the skin’s health. Potassium is needed to maintain the skin’s moisture balance. Passion fruit is rich in all three of these nutrients.

One of the best organic natural skin care ingredients is grape seed oil. It can be used for everything from a shaving lubricant to a moisturizer. It is rich in natural vitamin E and essential fatty acids that are similar to the skin’s own sebum. It has a unique filming ability which helps keep dirt and makeup out of the pores, while locking in moisture.

Only the top natural skin care products contain grape seed oil. It isn’t that expensive. It’s just that it is not as cheap as mineral oil, one of the petrochemicals that cosmetic companies rely on.

When you shop for organic natural skin care solutions, be sure to learn a little bit about the manufacturer’s philosophy. That’s how you’ll find the top natural skin care products.

A GUIDE TO IDENTIFY YOUR SKIN TYPE!

There are 5 basic skin types: normal, oily, dry, combination and sensitive. Before buying your cosmetics, toiletries and other products, do make sure that it is suitable for your skin type. Here’s how to classify your skin correctly…

NORMAL SKIN: It is smooth textured and evenly toned with tiny pores.

This skin type has a balanced oil and water content. Feels smooth and velvety. The colour of the skin glows below the translucent surface. This skin type definitely needs care if it is to last.

What you need to follow as a rule is regular cleansing, toning and moisturizing.

OILY SKIN: This type of skin has over reactive sebaceous (oil-producing) glands, which makes the face shiny especially down the central panel-of your nose, forehead and chin.

The pores of this skin type are enlarged making it prone to black-head, pimple and Acne.

Oily skin needs special cleansing to keep the pores unclogged. Women with oily skin need to adopt a daily proper method of cleansing to prevent accumulation of dirt on the skin surface.

DRY SKIN : This type of skin lacks both sebum and moisture. It looks fine textured, transparent, patchy and fragile. This type of skin flakes and chaps easily compared to other skin types. Tiny expression lines may be obvious.

Signs of a dry skin are:

(i) Flaky patches that disappear with regular moisturizing.

(ii) Finely textured with the pores not being visible.

(iii) Tiny expression lines that do not disappear.

(iv) The skin of neck and cheeks looks creepy.

To prevent further drying up of the skin what is needed is a good, healthy balanced diet, lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, 7-8 glasses of water, eight hours of sleep, exercise in fresh air and daily beauty regime.

Avoid harsh soaps to prevent loss of natural oils and exposure to sun and air-conditioners which rob the water content of the skin.

“COMBINATION SKIN: It is very common and requires separate treatment for each area. It is oily down the central panel and dry on the cheeks.

The forehead, nose and chin need extra attention as they may be prone to clusters of blackheads and enlarged pores.

Remember that oil is not moisture, and regular cleansing, toning and moisturizing has to be done with the area being dealt in mind. Clean and tone up the oily patch and moisturize the dry patch with extra care.

Skin care is not a topic of recent times; it has been in practice since ancient times, when herbal skin care was probably the only way to take care of skin. However, skin care has transformed in a big way. Herbal skin care routines have been replaced by synthetic/chemical-based skin care routines. The herbal skin care recipes which once used to be common place are not so popular today (and even unknown to a large population). This transformation from herbal skin care to synthetic, can probably be attributed to two things – our laziness (or just the fast pace of lives) and the commercialisation of skin care. Even herbal skin care products have been commercialised. These commercial herbal skin care products have to be mixed with preservatives in order to increase their shelf-life, hence making them less effective than the fresh ones made at home. However, it seems that things are changing fast and more people are now opting for natural and herbal skin care routines. But still, none want to make them at home and hence the commercial market of herbal skin care products is on the rise.

So what are these herbs or herbal skin care mechanisms?

Aloe vera, which is an extract from Aloe plant, is one of the best examples of herbal skin care product. Freshly extracted aloe vera is a natural hydrant that helps in soothing skin. It also helps in healing cuts and treating sun burns.

A number of herbs are known to possess cleansing properties. Dandelion, chamomile, lime flowers and rosemary herbs, are a few examples of such cleansers. Their herbal skin care properties get invoked when they are combined with other herbs like tea.

Antiseptics are another important part of Herbal skin care. Lavender, marigold, thyme and fennel are good examples of herbs that are known to possess antiseptic properties. Lavender water and rose water also form good toners.

Tea plays an important part in herbal skin care. Tea extracts are used for treatment of skin that has been damaged by UV radiation.

Oils prepared from herbal extracts present another means of herbal skin care. Tea tree oil, Lavender oil, borage oil and primrose oil are some popular oils used in herbal skin care. Some fruit oils (e.g. extracts from fruits like banana, apple and melon) find use in shower gels (as a hydrating mix)

Homeopathic treatments and aromatherapies also come under the umbrella of herbal skin care remedies.

Herbal skin care is good not only for the routine nourishing of skin but also for treatment of skin disorders like eczema and psorasis. Most herbal skin care products don’t have any side effects (the most important reason for preferring them over synthetic products) Moreover, herbal skin care products can be easily made at home, hence making them even more attractive. So, herbal skin care is the way to go. However, this does not mean that you totally discard the synthetic products. Some people go to the extent of debating with their dermatologist, if he/she suggests a synthetic product. You should accept the fact that some skin orders might need usage of clinically proven non-herbal skin care products.

Skin is the body’s mirror of our inner health and wellness, both physical and emotional. Skin plays a vital role in our life, how one looks and feels directly correlates to ones skin. Skin care is very important for women and men of all ages. Proper moisture levels in your skin (epidermis) help diminish signs of aging and distress from the outdoors, and prevent frequent makeup and cosmetics use from diminishing the skin’s glow and general health. Great skin is the first step toward an excellent makeup. One of the most important factors of skin care is skin cleansing. Because dirt, pollution, residual makeup, etc. There are different variants of bath lotion for dry skin, oily skin, and normal skin. Cleansing skin care is perhaps one of the most important things we can do to help keep our skin looking healthy and beautiful. Cleansing should not just stop with the face. It usually has a sunscreen and serves as surface protection for your skin from pollution. It also gives a nice slip so you can easily apply foundation. It can also provide a protective barrier to stop moisture from escaping from the skin. Water and many skin care products can strip the skin of moisture. Moisturizing lotion helps replace that loss moisture. It is very important for people with dry skin, who have less sebum (the skin’s natural oil) on their skin. Exercise is also a good component to skin care. Regular workouts keep the skin toned and make you feel good.

In any discussion of skin care wrinkles will come up. No one wants them, but no one seems to know how to get rid of them. There is a lot of advice about how to prevent them, such as avoiding the sun, staying away from cigarette smoke and doing your best to stay moisturized. But, there is not much advice about how to effectively remove them, without seeing a cosmetic surgeon. Here’s some advice for those of you that would like to learn about skincare wrinkles reduction and fighting the hands of time.

They say that you are what you eat and there are thousands of studies to support that statement. Today, there’s even an anti-wrinkle diet, developed by a popular dermatologist. You don’t need to buy the book. I can give you the basics. Eat fish, fruits, vegetables and soy. Drink green tea instead of coffee. Drink plenty of water and avoid carbonated beverages.

Throw in a little red wine, some Japanese mushrooms and whole grains like wild rice. The diet that you then have is the heavily promoted anti-inflammatory diet. There is no doubt that switching from the typical American diet to diets like these will improve your overall health, may help with skincare wrinkles reduction and even problems like acne and psoriasis, but it’s hard for most people to follow them.

To attempt to get the same benefits, without totally revamping your diet, you can take a fish oil supplement and a good multi-nutritional supplement that provides most of the elements found in these kinds of diets. Even if you already have a healthy diet, a good nutritional supplement can help you look younger and feel better, too. Interestingly, the most effective, safest and most natural way to reduce wrinkling, sagging and the other signs of age is to apply some of those nutrients directly.

There has been some research concerning skin care wrinkles and people with “sun damage”. Sun damaged skin is rough, dry and wrinkled. In one study, a cream containing coenzyme Q10 (the antioxidant) was shown to improve the volunteers’ appearance, after six weeks of use, and reduce wrinkling by nearly 30%.

When sun damage is not the issue, lost firmness is the most common cause of wrinkling and, of course, sagging. When it comes to good skincare wrinkles accompanied by sagging and similar problems, the solution is a cream containing bioactive keratin.

Keratin is a protein that is plentiful in the skin’s surface. Until recently, there was no way to make it soluble and use it in creams without destroying its basic protein “function”. Bioactive keratin is a recent development. Only a few creams on the market contain it.

In clinical trials creams containing it were shown to increase firmness by over 40% in less than three weeks. If you can find a cream that contains both bioactive keratin and coenzyme Q10, buy it. The effectiveness of those two ingredients can’t be beat.

With the right skin care wrinkles can disappear. It just takes a little time.

The search for the world’s finest antiaging skin care product took me around the world to the jungles of Africa, the snow-capped mountains of the Swiss Alps, and the underground lairs of some of the world’s most secret Egyptian caves. In the end, my discovery was an incredible one that gave me more than I bargained for.

The Benefits of Tea

For starters, I wanted to look into the bold claims of what a good green tea product could do in terms of an antiaging skin care product. Now tea is an ancient herbal drink that many of us are familiar with and it is also considered to be a “health food” because of the many benefits of drinking tea and its properties of detoxification. A good cup of tea can apparently help cure cancer, prevent heart disease, gum disease, and help with weight loss as well. But what about skin care?

Well, it turns out that green teas actually do help with skin care and the prospect of having healthy, younger-looking skin. There are polyphenols in tea that do a lot of the work and these are generally called “catechins”. These catechins perform the bulk of the work and believe me, there are a lot of different catechins in tea, especially green tea. In fact, green tea has almost 20 times the amount of catechins in it as black tea.

These polyphenols effectively fight the signs of aging by keeping us healthy inside. Tea increases the antioxidant quality of your skin and even your blood by allowing it to take on more oxygen and breathe easier, so naturally the higher amount of polyphenols you have working for you the greater antioxidant quality your skin has. It sounds like an unorthodox method in terms of skin care, especially in a market filled with creams and lotions and serums, but it is possible that the best antiaging skin care product out there is something you drink.

Education

The search for information became almost as important, if not more important than the search for the perfect antiaging skin care product. As I continued to look around the world, I became enamoured with the information that we have about the skin already and realized that we should be using that to our advantage first and a miracle skin cream last. The best weapon against the signs of aging would turn out to be education.

jewellery asked:

Using an anti aging skin care product is advertised as a great way to eliminate wrinkles, firm up sagging skin, and clear up dark circles under the eyes–but do these products actually work? Or are cosmetics companies, with their beautiful Hollywood celebrity spokespeople, really misleading you?

In my fifteen years of extensive personal experience with anti aging skin care products, I’ve discovered that the majority of them don’t live up to the hype.

Not only that–many of these products actually use ingredients that can have adverse health effects.

Don’t make the mistakes and waste all the money that I did. Avoid an anti aging skin care product if:

1) It uses mineral oil.

You’ll find mineral oil used in skin creams all the time–it often goes by the names liquid paraffin, paraffin wax, and petrolatum. It’s considered “filler,” an inexpensive way for manufacturers to bulk up the mass of their skin care products so they can justify charging you higher prices.

But the fact is that mineral oil actually clogs your pores! Because of this, it can lead to acne breakouts–even if, like me, you’re way past your teenage years.

Clinical studies also suggest that mineral oil can lead to premature aging of your skin.

I’m not sure about you, but I thought the whole point of using a skin care system was to help my skin regain elasticity and look younger–not to accelerate the aging process!

Fortunately, I finally found a skin care product line that doesn’t use this terrible stuff.

2) It contains Dioxane.

Dioxane is another substance widely used in skin care treatments. It’s a synthetic derivative of coconut.

And it often contains intense concentrations of 1,4-Dioxane. What’s 1,4-Dioxane? Only a chemical “known to the state of California to cause cancer.”

1,4-Dioxane is found in the ground, too. It’s a common groundwater contaminant.

And it might be lurking inside that tube of facial cream in your bathroom cabinet, too.

3) It uses parabens.

Parabens are frequently used as preservatives in anti aging skin care products. They’re cheap, and widely available, so leading cosmetics brands load up their products with this stuff.

But studies suggest that parabens might actually cause breast cancer, and can affect estrogen levels.

Talk about potentially serious side effects!

In spite of this, these billion-dollar cosmetics companies keep on using parabens in their products. I guess they figure that ordinary consumers like us will never dig deep enough to find out the truth.

But we’re smarter than that, aren’t we?

Believe it or not, there are actually several more dangerous ingredients you should avoid in an anti aging skin care product. It’s a minefield out there. Thankfully, I’ve found some natural skin care treatments that are not only 100% safe, but highly effective, too. Visit my web site now to learn more.
